Original, 1968, Norman Bluhm Artwork
Signed, dated and inscribed, acrylic-and-pastel-on paper, abstract figurative artwork by notable American painter, Norman Bluhm (1921-1999). From Artnet: "After completing his studies in Italy, Bluhm would move to Paris to attend the famed Ecole des Beaux Arts. During his time living in the French capital, Bluhm began to mingle with avant-garde artists like Paul Eluard, Pablo Picasso, and Alberto Giacometti, even appearing in Jean Cocteau’s landmark 1969 film Orphée. In this way, he experienced painting directly from not just the great artists of the past in Parisian museums, but also from the contemporary artists breaking new ground in the medium."
