Completely original, circa 1870, Chinoiserie, lacquer decorated, hand-painted, parcel-gilt fall front secretary in a rare, crème-based palette. A two-door cabinet with inset drawers sits above a serpentine, three-drawer base. From the former collection of the Marchioness of Dufferin and Ava a confidant of the Queen Mother.

Items belonging to the Marchioness including a calling card, address book, photographs and other items are included with the piece.
