Grand Tour Period, Marble Bust

Larger than life, beautifully carved, Carrara marble bust of a noble figure in clasped robes- perhaps the Emperor Hadrian (24 January 76 CE–10 July 138 CE), known as one of the "Five Good Emperors", and whose busts and images tend to be presented with exceptional, naturalistic detail, of which this would be a fine example. The bust mounted on a solid, polished, black marble column of a later date.
