Mated Pair of Marked, Minton Vases

A striking, rare pair of large marked, Minton, Secessionist style, majolica glazed vases with a celadon ground and sprays of Robin's egg blue flowers amidst swaying leaves. Designed by by Léon Solon and John Wadsworth, who drew inspiration from both continental Art Nouveau and the more geometric style of the Glasgow School. A single vase of this exact make and style is part of the permanent collection of the Museum of New Zealand.
