Pair of Inlaid Marble Top Commodes

Fine pair of veneered and inlaid commodes in various woods with original marble tops. The fronts are centered by a neoclassical vase with floral bouquets, bordered with leaves. Interior of drawers have been restored. Lombardy, Italy. c. 1790’s. Attributed to furniture designer Giuseppe Maggiolini (Parabiago, 1738-1814). Provenance: Santa Margherita Ligure, formerly Villa Durazzo Centurione. Rome, private collection of heirs.
