Pair of highly desirable, Italian, circa 1785, scrolling brackets in metal and wood. Both gessoed, and 22-karat gold gilded. The pair embellished with acanthus leaf sculptures and terminating in whirling, tapered tendrils. Initially used to hang either censers or lanterns.
