Pair of Inlaid Marble Top Commodes Attributed to Giuseppe Maggiolini, Lombardy c. 1790s

An exceptional pair of 18th century Italian commodes, intricately veneered and inlaid with various fine woods, and retaining their original marble tops. The elegant neoclassical designs on the fronts feature a central urn flanked by abundant floral marquetry and foliate motifs, framed with refined symmetry and classical influence. The drawers, recently restored internally, glide smoothly while preserving their original charm. The overall silhouette and exquisite inlay work are attributed to renowned Lombard cabinetmaker Giuseppe Maggiolini (1738–1814), known for his masterful marquetry and refined compositions.

These rare antique commodes hail from Lombardy, Italy, circa 1790s. Accented with bronze mounts and resting on gently tapering legs, they offer not only functional elegance but also a remarkable lineage. Perfect for refined interiors, these pieces embody the grandeur and decorative finesse of late 18th century Italian neoclassical furniture, ideal for collectors or designers seeking museum-worthy heirlooms.
